Hand dived sea scallops roasted with spices, golden raisin purée and cauliflower beignets

felicia and I both got the scallop. Lightly seasonly with curry powder and pan seared to a nice golden brown. I liked it=)

Salad of market greens, haricots verts and crispy shallots with herb mayonnaise

greensXD the truffle mayo didn't really taste like my potent bottle of white truffle oil

Smoked rainbow trout, avocado, sauce mousseline, fennel crisps

could use cracker to help with the texture a bit, but overally i liked this one.

Carnaroli risotto with grilled asparagus and black trompette mushrooms

looks like the base for the crab risotto on hell's kitchen right? A delicious risotto if you enjoy mushrooms.

Gilthead bream with native lobster risotto, lemongrass and Thai basil

Hands down my favorite dish of the day. Also happens to be my entree=) The bream on top was perfectly cooked. The skin was very crispy and the flesh nice and flaky. The lobster risotto undernearth was also very good with several nice chunks of lobster.

fluke

steamed fluke on a bed of squash with roasted fennel i think. The fish is nicely cooked.

Red wine braised shortrib, horseradish gnocchi and spiced tomato relish

finally get to taste gnocchi, did not like the mushy texture. The beef was nice and tender. I found the tomato relish to be a little to overpowering.

Vanilla crème brûlée with Mascarpone and plum ice cream

This savory icecream was my favorite. It's slightly salty flavor reminds me of thai desserts.

Blueberry and lime cheesecake with lemon crème and Amaretti biscuits

This didn't really taste like traditional cheese cake. More like a mousse triffle. The lime gelee on top is nice and refreshing. Not sure i like the tiny greens on top. The tiny amaretti biscuits were very nice. Crunchy outter texture reminds of macaroons.

Valrhona chocolate fondant with green cardamom caramel, sea salt and almond ice cream

a chocolate souffle with a gooey chocolate center

Passion fruit and rum baba with mango tartar and frozen yogurt

The aroma from the passion fruit puree was heavenly but unfortunately the texture of the baba was very disappointing. Think soggy and graining muffins.

celery soda

celery soda, originally uploaded by aznkey.

So I spot this shady concoction when we went to pick up cheese cake from Junior's(supposed the best in new york) and had to try it. First thing that came to mind when i drank it was " wow, that's celery". No joke, this celery soda taste like liquid celery added to sprite. It's not horrible but certainly not good eats. But for whatever reason i keep drinking it and finished it.

Do I need to tell you how good they are? Just look at them. A light crispy outer shell with a moist insides that just melts in your mouth.

Macaroons

The best macaroons in New York from La Maison Du Chocolat. We bought 2 caramel with salt, 1 vanilla with chocolate ganache, and 1 chocolate with ganache. Very expensive- $2 each.

small world coffee

small world coffee, originally uploaded by aznkey.

Carrot and red velvet cupcakes from a local coffee shop near princeton. What no starbucks? The carrot cake was dense, moist and slight chewy. I thought it was quite delicious. Oh and don't forget the giant roach sized raisins in them. I really liked the cream cheese frosting. - worth it

As for the red velvet cake I not sure what it taste like flavorwise. But it is a good cupcake. -worth it

not sure what the price is .

No soup for you!

No soup for you!, originally uploaded by aznkey.

I was very excited to try the soup from the the infamous soup nazi. He now has a chain called Soup Man. We went to the on in Princeton. Like a five year old at the candy shop I got a bit greedy and order a large lobster bisque and a small, crab bisque, new england clam chowder, and turkey chilly. The soups were pretty expensive considering you only get about 1/2 a pint for a small serving.
picture-from the back to the front.
6.95(small)-New england clam chowder- An impressive amount of clams and potato bits in every spoonful of soup. You can tell that they did not skimp on materials. It is rich, creamy, and packed with the "seafood" taste. Best clam chowder i've ever had. The stuff from fisherman's wharf don't even come close.- I'd line up.

5.95(small)- Turkey Chili - I think this tasted like pork instead of turkey. Not the best nor the worst chili i've had. Since it was only okay, I think it's over priced. Not worth it.

7.95(small)-Crab Bisque- One of the two signature soups. Made with lumps of premium alaskan crabmeat. Like the clam chowder, i was impressive with the amount of seafood in it. There was crab in every spoonful of soup. Some lumps too! mmmmmm- I'd line up

9.95(large)-Lobster Bisque- The other signature soup. Made with real lobster. Unfortunated this soup was not packed with lobster. I was sad. There was only about 3 pieces, maybe i was unlucky=/ Taste wise, it is like a ligher version of the crab bisque without the taste of crab. At a cheaper price i would rather have the crab bisque unless i get more lobster chunk. Still very good though.- Worth it

Every soup came with a piece of wheat bread, tiny plum, and lindt chocolate truffle! I think this was the best set of take out sides i've had.

fresh raspberies

Some beautiful looking raspberries we hand picked from the organic farm. Now i know how these things grow, on small bushes. To pick them you just carefully grab the ripe berries and pull. The berry would come off leaving behind a cone shaped core.

organic farm

My cousin are part of a food co-op so every week they get to go to the organic farm to pick up goodies. All the vegetables were already picked and were in baskets for us to choose from. We got some yellow squash, cucumber, white onion, red cabbbage, white pepper, and garlic. Carrying this basket of fresh produce from the farm totally feels like i'm about to cook up some california cuisine.

philly cheese steak

also from george's
we got a cheese steak and eggplant parm sandwich.
aside from the awesome looking cheese that was oozing out, they were nothing special.

eggplant -3.30
cheesesteak-3.70 for the price, they beat subway. worth it.

buffalo wings

also from george's.

freshly made buffalo wings made when you order. Too bad it was fried a little too long so it was dried out. The onion ranch like dipping sause is good.
20 piece-8.15- i'd eat it

George's ribs

George's Roasters and Ribs

Princeton Junk Food??

Huge looking spareribs from a small place in downtown princeton. My cousin think the sauce sorta smells like chef boyardee. Taste wise i think it's an ok bbq sauce. I did not like the over cooked meat texture though.

$9.30- i'd eat it, but i think my ribs are better =P

Fruit tart

Fruit tart, originally uploaded by aznkey.

Going to do something new for a change. Instead of blogging about what i cook i'm going to post what i've been eating for the next month or so. East Side!

Here we go.

What you see above is a fruit tart from Wegamn's, a gourmet food market. A graham cracker crust with pastry cream and fruits on the top. The assorted fruits looks much better than it taste. I liked the crust and pastry cream more. The tart would be awesome if the fruits were in season.
$22 - Worth it.
